Giji Harem

Giji Harem manga (Pseudo Harem) is a comedy series with themes of romantic subtext and school life, aimed at a shounen demographic. Serialized in Gessan, it is written and illustrated by Yuu Saitou. The story follows Eiji Kitahama, a second-year high school student who dreams of being popular. Rin Nanakura, his junior in the drama club, uses her acting skills to create a harem of loving girls for him. While the various “girls” show fondness toward Eiji, Rin’s true feelings for him are genuine. Her colorful performances delight Eiji, but will she ever win his heart?

Giji Harem manga known in English as Pseudo Harem is a Japanese comic series by Yū Saitō. It started as a webcomic on Saitō’s Twitter from June 20, 2018, to March 5, 2021. Giji Harem comic was also published in Shogakukan’s Monthly Shōnen Sunday from January 12, 2019, to March 12, 2021. Shogakukan released six volumes of the series from March 12, 2019, to April 12, 2021. In 2019, it was nominated for the fifth Next Manga Awards and ranked seventh out of 50 nominees.

Giji Harem anime adaptation was announced on April 10, 2023. The series is produced by Nomad and directed by Toshihiro Kikuchi, with Yūko Kakihara writing the scripts, Yoshihisa Sato designing the characters, Pony Canyon handling music production, and Takeshi Watanabe composing the music. It will premiere on July 5, 2024, on Tokyo MX and other networks. Gohobi will perform the opening theme song “Blouse” (ブラウス), and Saori Hayami will perform the ending theme song “Ad-lib” (アドリブ) as her character Rin Nanakura. Crunchyroll has licensed the series.
